About Alex
At only 28 years of age, Alex Ashman has had over 20 years experience with horses having started riding at the tender age of five and has never looked back. In her junior years Alex was a consistent member of the Scottish team from the age of 11 competing at home pony internationals throughout the UK. At 16 Alex moved into seniors and got her first horses Windmere Teidi and Bally Noe Belle. Although not wanting Bally Noe Belle at the start, within six months Belle had qualified for the Horse of the Year Show, Olympia and Hickstead.

Belle retired and became a very good brood mare and although quite old is happy at Limes Farm and some of her progeny are still here too. Randal has been Alex's best horse. Randal and Alex have competed for Great Britain at three European Championships and have won the National under 21's Championships in 1999. They have also won scottish championships, Grand Prix's, been placed in International Trials and competed in the Queen's Cup at Hickstead.

Alex has been lucky enough to have been trained by some of the greatest equestrians in the world. Sandra Low-Mitchell has produced and sold some very good horses. Alex spent two years at Ted and Liz Edgar's yard in Warwickshire the time Alex spent there was invaluable. Alex has also had help from Malcolm Pyrah, David Broome and Mark Philips. Alex is now on hand at the farm in the indoor or outdoor arena. Limes Farm is also able to offer you the chance to come with your horse and stay for training and compete at one of the many show centres local to us.
