Limes Farm Dog Agility

The Dog Agility classes at Limes Farm have had their one year anniversary this Christmas 2006! We celebrated with a meal at the local pub and a fantastic presentation evening with prizes and rosettes.

The Club originated by a group of liveries wanting to compete in Horse and Hound classes at the local show centre in Alsager. Lydia, the driving force behind the Club has experience competing in agility competitions with her Patterdale x Jack Russell terrier, Treacle.  From these small beginnings we have increased the number of classes and taken on a new instructor Chris so that we can provide a wholesome service to our loyal Agility Club members.

Chris has competed up to Advanced level Kennel Club Agility classes for a number of years with his Border Collie, Jip. He is currently bringing on a puppy, Mac, who looks a very promising star for the future. The Club would not be complete without our course builder, Karen (Chris’s wife) who every week comes up with some new and exciting courses, with both technical and simple aspects to test the class!!
Refreshments and biscuits are available throughout the evening.

Class Times
Tuesday 6pm - 7.30pm
This early class is for complete starters who are taught the basics of agility, using straight line jumps and each week tackling a new obstacle. The intermediate class also work in the indoor school so the starters have experience with their dogs in the exciting agility environment. Please arrive early to help set-up the equipment.

Tuesday 7.30pm – 9pm
The later class is for the more advanced Club members, where they tackle a whole course and then break it down into smaller sections to ensure they run a competition standard course at the end of the class! This class helps to put the equipment away at the end of the class.

Sunday 2pm – 4pm
This is a practice class for anyone who wants to fine tune those contacts, weaves and ‘waits’ usually with fewer dogs this enables a more focused training session.

NEW Starters Agility Class 2007 TUESDAY 30th JANUARY 2007 AT 6pm

Any breed and size of dog over 12 months of age can take part in agility from Terriers to Pointers, Beagles to Labradors!

Some basic training is incorporated into each class such as recall, sit, stay and wait commands. However prior to the agility class an appropriate level of obedience is needed as most of the work will be carried out off the lead…..eventually!!
