An Introduction to Limes Farm Stud


Limes Farm Stud is a friendly and professional BHS approved livery yard located in the small village of Barthomley near Crewe, Cheshire. Just 5 minutes to the M6 motorway, giving direct access to the North and South.

Limes Farm forms part of the Duchy of Lancaster estate, formally a large dairy farm famously visited by her majesty the Queen in 1995. We now benefit from a range of fabulous facilities including indoor and outdoor arenas, 5 horse Claydon horse walker and excellent large internal stables. We pride ourselves on a very high standard of horse care their welfare is our number one priority.

The yard is managed by the resident proprietor Alex Ashman who has over 20 years of experience with horses, representing Great Britain internationally in show jumping at the European Championships. Alex is always on hand at the yard for help, advice and to share her experience if required.

Our aim is to provide top quality livery at truly competitive rates. We have a range of livery services from our new Happy Hacker, DIY, Part and Full livery as well as offering holiday and hunting and schooling livery.

The hacking in this area is second to none and the grass gallops are just a short hack away. We benefit from a peaceful location which all the horses thrive on.
Here at Limes Farm we pride ourselves with having a great atmosphere for both the horses and the nutters that own them!
